Del Mar Country Club: Pristine Golf

In this weeks edition of "San Diego's Best Golf Courses" we will be taking a look at another one of San Diego's incredible country clubs: Del Mar Country Club.

THE COURSE:

Del Mar Country Club is one of the nicest and most challenging golf courses I ever had the pleasure of playing. Once again, tucked into the hills of Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar is an exceptional club and course. Coming in at 7,226 yards from the back tees, it is one of the longer courses in Southern California. The par 72, 18 hole course is sure to challenge every golfer. With long, accurate tee shots required, the challenges don't stop there. Each green and fairway is littered with fairway bunkers, having accurate, long tee shots all day is the key to success at Del Mar Country Club.

QUALITY:

The grounds crew at Del Mar Country Club does a great job at keeping the course well maintained all year long. The fairways and greens are always perfect, and all of the landscaping that surrounds the course is incredible. Another feature that is very well maintained is the driving range and short game area, with well groomed bunkers and a nice grass tee driving range, Del Mar stays in great shape.

VIEWS:

Del Mar is one of the more tucked and secluded golf courses in San Diego. But that does not mean there are not great views. From the top of the driving range you can look out and see north San Diego and even the Pacific Ocean, the course itself gives some great glimpses at the mountains surrounding San Diego.

OVERALL:

Overall, Del Mar Country Club is very highly ranked, an for good reason. The facilities, the course, the staff are all incredible. And the course is about as challenging as they come, sure to give any golfer a run for their money. If you have the opportunity to get out and play Del Mar Country Club, I would highly recommend it.
